Neighborhood Spotlight: Lenolt

Real Estate

If you’re looking at possibly buying a home in Redwood City, make sure you don’t overlook the up and coming neighborhood of Lenolt. It’s in a great location with access to some of the highest ranked schools in town. The best part? You can still find a home here for under $1M.

Location, Location, Location
The neighborhood of Lenolt is close to downtown Redwood City and borders San Carlos, making it very attractive to people who want easy access to a variety of great restaurants, coffee shops, and things to do. It also has easy access to 101 and CalTrain for commuting.

Great Schools
Currently zoned for Clifford (K-8) and Sequoia (9-12), Lenolt is zoned for some of the best schools in Redwood City.  Clifford is a mix of students from Redwood City and San Carlos and has seen a lot of improvement in the last few years in terms of state ranking and API scores.  Sequoia High School also serves students from Redwood City and San Carlos and is one of a handful of schools in the area that offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.

Steps from Downtown Redwood City
Redwood City is arguably the largest adult and kid/family friendly downtown between San Mateo and Palo Alto. There is so much to do, including restaurants, coffee shops, bars, theaters, Courthouse Square, museums, and the RWC Library.  Startups, Google, and Stanford are flocking to Redwood City, putting the city squarely on the Silicon Valley map.  Downtown is rapidly growing and offers more potential (in my opinion) than any other Peninsula city at this moment.

The Coolness Factor
Whether you’re looking for a ranch home with a white picket fence or classic victorian, Lenolt has you covered.  The tree lined ABC streets are similar to what you’d find in High School Acres and Farm Hill Estates for much less money, but with the same appeal.  The pre-war homes of Centennial and Stambaugh Heller are rad.  Some are beautifully restored while others are just waiting for someone to bring them back to life.

Still Affordable (for the Peninsula anyways)
There is no denying that prices have skyrocketed in the past few years. Lenolt is one of the few places in Redwood City, and on the Peninsula, where you can still buy a single family home for less than $1M.
