Redwood City Restaurant Week kicked off last night. If you’ve been eager to try somewhere new or hang out at an old favorite, this is the week for dining out. Participating restaurants will be cooking up a special multi-course, dinner prix fixe menu just for the event.

Come and enjoy games for children, music & theater, Ballet Folklorico, food, arts & crafts at the Kermes dia del Niño Festival on April 24. The event is organized by the Latino Community Council of Redwood City to raise funds for the Early Childhood Learning Center at the Fair Oaks Library.

The U.S. News and World Report school rankings are out. Ten high schools in California rank in the top 100 nationwide and two of them are in Redwood City.

If you’ve ever considered taking up beekeeping, you may just be able to if Redwood City approves amendments to the current zoning rules. Right now, Redwood City has some of the most restrictive rules on beekeeping in the county, but the change could allow thousands more residents to raise bees.
