Stanford University is proposing their first significant campus expansion beyond the main Palo Alto campus, to be located in Redwood City. This proposal is the result of years of community outreach, environmental review, and planning efforts. Los Angeles private-equity firm, Trion, purchased a Redwood City apartment complex for $15 million. The company plans to pump money into renovations in order to attract heftier rent checks. (It’s currently leasing for about 40 percent below market.)
Redwood City based Upthere, a company led by a group of former Apple executives just raised $77 million to prove that it can do cloud storage better than Dropbox, Apple and other incumbent tech giants.
