Stanford University is proposing their first significant campus expansion beyond the main Palo Alto campus, to be located in Redwood City. This proposal is the result of years of community outreach, environmental review, and planning efforts. Check out this post for additional background on the plan and the project, as well as key features of the proposal and future opportunities for community input.

Apply to compete in the Annual Redwood City Salsa Festival! Amateur and professional salsa chefs can compete for fun, prizes, and Salsa Glory in this mouth watering and exciting competition. It’s all happening September 24th from 12-8pm in Downtown Redwood City.

Get your tickets to Oktoberfest in Redwood City. Join friends and neighbors in a huge decked-out tent on Courthouse Square, complete with over 1,100 feet of “family style” bench seating, lots of fun and merriment, music, dancing, contests, cold beer and other beverages, food, and more! 

Check out the Tell A Friend series over on Redwood City’s Medium feed, where the city will answer questions from the community. This week: parking meters, the Farm Hill pilot program, and the 603 Jefferson development.

Los Angeles private-equity firm, Trion, purchased a Redwood City apartment complex for $15 million. The company plans to pump money into renovations in order to attract heftier rent checks. (It’s currently leasing for about 40 percent below market.)

Redwood City based Upthere, a company led by a group of former Apple executives just raised $77 million to prove that it can do cloud storage better than Dropbox, Apple and other incumbent tech giants.
