In the wake of the Northern California wildfires, officials are urging residents to sign up for the San Mateo County’s emergency notification system. You can sign up at www.smcalert.info or by texting your five-digit zip code to 888777.

The Magical Bridge Playground will be holding a groundbreaking ceremony this Friday, Nov. 3 from 12 – 1 pm. Celebrate with city officials and sponsors who helped bring the nation’s most innovative and inclusive playground to Redwood City. And if you’re interested in supporting the playground, it’s not too late to donate!

The City is looking into several possible park sites downtown, including the Main Street parking lot next to City Hall. Local blogger, Greg Wilson, has suggested daylighting a portion of the creek that currently runs underneath the lot as a possible park feature. City staff have begun studying locations and are considering criteria such as size, amenities, issues and conflicts, cost effectiveness, and maintenance.

Support local art and pick up some holiday gifts! The Foster City Rec Center Ceramics Studio is hosting its holiday sale on Friday, Nov 3rd from 1 pm -6 pm and on Saturday, Nov 4th from 10 am to 5 pm. As many as 15 potters from the studio will have their work up for sale. It is an excellent opportunity to buy handmade pieces for your home or very reasonably priced holiday gifts for friends and family. The sale will be held at The Foster City Rec Center at 650 Shell Blvd.

Check out this weekend’s open houses, like this 2 bedroom, 2 bath in the Roy Cloud school district. If you’re in the market to buy or sell a home, I would love to work with you. Schedule a free consultation or give me a ring at (650) 704-8883.
