This year marks Redwood City’s 10th Annual Salsa Festival! The festivities start Friday evening with a special evening at the Fox Theater with the Spanish Harlem Orchestra (tickets here). Then, on Saturday, September 30th head on down to Courthouse Square for salsa music, dancing, and of course, tasting! The public tasting is from 12:00 – 5:00pm and the festival will be going until 8:00pm.
In a recent meeting of the Architectural Advisory Committee two development projects were reviewed: a 125-unit apartment building proposed for 353 Main St. and a four-story office and retail building proposed for parcels at and near 851 Main St. At the forefront of the conversation: how the projects can improve Redwood City’s walkways and provide much needed affordable housing and retail space.
Prices are going up at the Redwood City Caltrain station. Rates will increase in October for both travel and parking systemwide. According to Caltrain officials, fees will cost 25 cents more per zone of travel, which could increase fares to up to $1.25 per direction. All adjustments to the fares can be found here.
